KUTX 98.9 app for iPhone and iPad

No other station captures the Austin Music Experience like KUTX 98.9. Our hosts have ~300 years on the radio combined—most of that in Austin. What you’ll hear on KUTX is a hand-curated, alternative music mix with a local twist. The music staff collaborates on picking the best songs, albums and artists from the great pool that makes Austin the “Live Music Capital of the World.”

So what’s our app do? Well, right now it does just one thing–stream our station; and it does it well. We’re using a high-quality and efficient codec, AAC+. It sounds great on all platforms, devices, radios, and even over 3G.

This is the first gen KUTX app. Roughly 98.9% of all requests for an app have said they just want an easy way to stream, so that’s where we’ve started. What’s next? We’ll have our:
- Song info and playlists
- Streams for KUT News and our Alt.Latino HD station
- Video performances from Studio 1A and the Cactus Café
- Podcasts / On Demand content
- And more
